Sun-Drop Cake

Recipe Yields: 1 cake

Ingredients:
  • 1 stick butter or margarine

  • 2/3 cup Crisco shortening

  • 2 1/4 cups sugar

  • 5 eggs

  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

  • 1 tsp. lemon flavoring

  • 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour

  • 1 tblsp. Double-acting baking powder

  • 3/4 cup Sun-drop

Directions:
Cream butter and Crisco together well; add sugar gradually, beating until fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Blend in flavorings. Mix baking powder into flour and add alternately with Sun-drop in thirds. Pour batter into 12-cup fluted tube pan, which has been greased and floured. Bake at 350 degrees for about 55 to 60 minutes or until cake test done.

Turn out onto rack to cool, until mixture is thick but not set, about one hour.
